Frequently Asked Questions
What can a child expect in a week at Camp St. Louis?
Camp St. Louis is a Catholic summer camp for children ages 8-14 and counselors aged 15-17. Our programming is intentionally centered around encountering Christ through authentic community, including weekly Confession and daily Mass. We also play a variety of fun games, such as Capture the Flag, Do You Love Your Neighbour and Predator Vs. Prey. We spend time on the beach and in the lake, we sing around the campfire and we have fun building a large community of faith together!
When is drop-off and registration?
Every week* begins with a Mass at 6pm on Sunday night, with registration and a “Holy Cones” ice-cream fundraiser to follow (around 7pm). Parents and families are welcome to join us for this portion of the evening!
*Exception: 8-10 week begins on Monday with a 6pm Mass due to the long weekend.
When is pick-up?
The week ends with a closing Mass at 10am, with the check-out and a Taco in a Bag fundraiser to follow (around 10:30am). The closing Mass is a Youth Mass, with additional elements of singing and youth involvement, so parents are encouraged to come!
How much are the fundraisers at the beginning and end of the week? Do I have to bring cash?
The Holy Cones ice-cream fundraiser at the beginning of the week is $3 for 1 scoop and $5 for 2 scoops. The Taco in a Bag at the end of the week is $5. Payments can be made by cash or etransfer at campstlouis@dostp.ca.
What should my child pack? Where can I find more information about the week?
All of the information about camp can be found in the CSL Handbook.
How much does it cost to send my child to camp?
The first registration is $400, and any additional weeks or children are discounted at only $250!
For counsellors, they must pay the $400 fee for Counselors Week, but any additional counseled weeks are free!
How does Camp St. Louis make things affordable for large families or families in need?
If a family really wants to send their child/children to camp but is not able to afford it, they can complete a subsidy applications to potentially have a portion of their registration covered by donations to our subsidy fund. You can find out more about our subsidy fund by clicking here.
We also accept payments in more manageable pieces, for example by paying the fee on a monthly or bi-weekly basis. This is to ensure that families have flexibility in paying their fees so that the timing does not become a barrier for children coming to camp.
How do I pay my camp fees?
Payments can be made directly in CampBrain through credit card, or can be paid by etransfer, cash or cheque at the registration table on Sundays. Payment plans are now available!
What is the etransfer email?
campstlouis@dostp.ca. Please include the name of the child or children you are paying for in the etransfer message.
